A Legacy of Service
for Over 44 Years
1972
Our roots in this community run deep. The Pecan Plantation Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1972, at the very beginning of Pecan Plantation’s development. In those early days, our resources were humble – a single water tank mounted on a repurposed US Army truck, manned by a small but determined group of residents and farm workers. Our first fire station was located at the airport, a testament to our community’s resourcefulness and commitment to safety.
1983
In 1983, the Pecan Plantation Owners Association (PPOA) officially filed articles of incorporation for the PPVFD and Ambulance Services, solidifying our role as an essential service provider. The ambulance and its equipment were initially stored at the tennis court, another example of our community’s innovative spirit.
1997
As our community grew, so did our needs. In 1997, a significant milestone was reached when the developer generously donated land for our current facilities. The fire department building was completed that same year, followed by the EMS building in 2008, providing our dedicated volunteers with the modern infrastructure they need to serve you effectively.
